Ambitious Quillathlon 2019 charity fundraiser

This year we're holding a Quillathlon charity fundraiser in aid of Cancer Research UK. Beginning on 7th September and continuing to 22nd September, we intend to ‘travel’ to our furthest-away client which happens to be Falklands Legal located in the Falkland Islands; a total distance of 7,940 miles. You can support our Quillathlon initiative by pledging sponsorship money. We unveiled our latest company statistics during our staff AGM and CPD afternoon on 10th May which demonstrate healthy growth and strong financial security. For the financial year ending March 2019, headline figures include rapid expansion for our outsourced payroll service with a 15% increase in the number of employee payrolls processed each month.

Lynda Rostron awarded employee of the year

Lynda Rostron has been the receptionist at our Manchester head office for 21 years. We've awarded Lynda employee of the year accolade because of her absolute devotion to Quill, not only from the perspective of long service, but also being the first to arrive each day. Another contributing factor is Lynda’s unfaltering ability to be smiling, helpful and supportive to her fellow colleagues and callers or visitors to the office.

AGM fundraising for Cancer Research UK

Last week's AGM wasn't just about updating our workforce on what's happening at Quill, getting everyone involved in employee engagement activities and having fun at the after party, it was also an opportunity to do our 'giving back' bit by fundraising for charity. Our monetary donation of £475, generated from our raffle, will support Cancer Research UK's ongoing initiatives to beat cancer sooner.

Quill Payroll provides long-term fix to cashier problem at MPP Solicitors

When MPP Solicitors first became a Quill client, for legal accounts software only initially, the practice employed its own cashier. Responsible mainly for managing its accounts on Quill’s software, another facet of its cashier’s role was processing the firm’s payroll. The internal structure changed when its cashier retired. A long-term solution was sought because of the challenges presented by constant payroll changes. The practice compared payroll software purchase and outsourcing costs, and chose our outsourced payroll service.
