Quill's Easter bunnies are delivering smiles to disadvantaged children

Posted: 28th March, 2018

The Quill Easter bunnies have been out in force this month collecting chocolate eggs, colouring books and colouring pens for poorly children in hospital, shelters or hospices up and down the country.

Employees in our four regional offices - Manchester, Liverpool, Redcar and Brighton - donated gifts or money (to buy gifts) for patients on the children's ward at Manchester Royal Infirmary and homeless children supported by Liverpool Homeless Football Club as well as children in care at Butterwick Hospice Care and Rockinghorse Children's Charity.

These four charitable causes have been chosen by our staff. To give you a little bit of detail about them all, the MRI is an NHS foundation trust. Liverpool Homeless Football Club's Easter egg appeal is distributing gifts to children residing in temporary accommodation, homeless shelters and domestic abuse shelters across Merseyside. Butterwick's mission is to improve the quality of life for children with progressive life-limiting illnesses, and Rockinghorse provides additional resources to improve healthcare services for sick children and babies in hospitals throughout Sussex.

Our in-house voluntary charity committee is the mastermind responsible for thinking up our annual benevolent activites. The aim of our Easter collection was simply to put a smile on children's faces during a challenging phase of their lives.

To quote the author Richard M Knittle: "Putting a smile on a child's face can change the world. Maybe not the whole world but at least their world." We couldn't agree more.

Happy Easter everyone!
