AGM fundraising for Cancer Research UK

Posted: 15th May, 2019

Last Friday's AGM and CPD afternoon was a great success (more on that to follow!). Amongst our many highlights was raising £475 for Cancer Research UK with our raffle. Prizes were generously donated by Rodgers Flowers, Total Merchandise, UK Healthcare, Wealthcare, Jenkinsons, Floorbrite and Lancashire County Cricket Club, and even Quill employees Tom Wormald and Dan Matthews.

Thanks to them, lots of lucky winners took home a fantastic line-up of prizes including a Google Home Mini, £50 Marks & Spencer vouchers, £20 Waterstones vouchers, box of wine and lots more. Our raffle generated some Quill love too as one winner, Ross, gifted his vacuum cleaner to Abigail for her first home which she's scheduled to move into this week. We give a big shout out to another winner as well, Jo, who sold her signed cricket bat on the day and donated the money to the charity pot.

Julian Bryan, MD, comments: "Our AGM isn't just about updating our workforce on what's happening at Quill, getting everyone involved in employee engagement activities and having fun at the after party, although this obviously did form the main part of the day's agenda. It's also an opportunity to do our 'giving back' bit by fundraising for charity.

"When you consider that one in two of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetimes and survival has doubled since the 1970s, we couldn't think of a worthier cause than Cancer Research UK. Our monetary donation will support its ongoing initiatives to beat cancer sooner."
