We're doing our bit for charity this Christmas

Posted: 12th December, 2018

As Christmas is the season of giving, we're doing our bit to give back to those less fortunate than ourselves with a reverse advent calendar campaign and Christmas food bank collection.

Our voluntary charity committee has picked four charities, namely Wood Street Mission (a children's charity helping families living on a low income in Manchester and Salford), Redcar Area Food Bank (providing emergency food for local people in crisis), Whitechapel Centre (the leading homeless and housing charity for the Liverpool region) and Whitehawk Food Bank (giving nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to people across Brighton).

Starting last Monday 3rd December, our teams are bringing in one item each day for two weeks. This Friday 14th December, we'll gather all the donations together and distribute to our regional charities. We're currently busy collecting everything from bedding and clothing to toiletries and toys in the hope of bringing a smile to families and children in need this Christmastime.

To celebrate the end of our good deed, we're hosting Christmas Jumper Day on Friday whereby we'll wear our festive knitwear to work and donate £2 each to charity. There'll even be a prize for the best (by which we mean worst!) Christmas jumper.

On top of this, we're running a pre-Christmas bonus ball competition. Employees are invited to purchase a randomly allocated number for £10 and the winner is the person with the bonus ball number from the National Lottery draw on Saturday 22nd December. The prize is £350 with the remaining cash pledged to charity, Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust, the only UK charity dedicated to women, their families and friends affected by cervical cancer.

Keep up-to-date with our charitable activities on social media. We'll post photos of our charity collections, Christmas jumpers and more. Go to facebook.com/QuillPayroll and twitter.com/QuillPayroll.
